Born in Sand Lake, January 17, 1884, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Olsen. He was a farmer at Stanton 30 years and lived in Ionia 27 years where he was employed at Ionia State hospital and was also sexton at Oak Hill cemetery. He was married July 6, 1904, to Agnes Pearl Hayes and she died July 4, 1970. Surviving are a son, Donald of Allegan; two daughters, Mrs. John Zachel of Morenci and Mrs. H.P. Evans of Detroit; nine grandchildren; five brothers, Chris Olsen of Denver, Colo., Holgar of Greenville, Ernest of Wisconsin, Jay and Harry of Battle Creek. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Myers-Roetman funeral home. Interment will be at Balcom cemetery.
