Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Mon. July 6, 1970


Agnes Pearl Olsen, 85, of route 1, Morenci, died Saturday morning at Morenci 
area hospital following an extended illness.

She was born August 1, 1887 in Whitecloud the daughter of Frank and Alice 
Cooper Hayes. She was married to Sofus Olsen in Trufant, July 6, 1904 and moved 
to Ionia in 1944 and lived here 26 years. Monday she would have been married 66 
years. Prior to coming to Ionia she had lived on a farm near Stanton.

Surviving are her husband Sofus of Morenci; one son, Donald of Allegan; two 
daughters, Mrs. John Zachel of Morenci and Mrs. H.P. Evans of Detroit; nine 
grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 pm at Myers-Roetman funeral home in 
Ionia. Rev. Mark Lenz of Morenci will officiate and interment will be at Balcom 
cemetery.

Family will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
