LAURA J. OLSON
Portland - Laura J. Olson, age 77, of Portland, passed away surrounded by her 
family on December 20, 2017 at her home after a battle with cancer. On March 
28, 1940, she was born in Detroit to Elbert and Grace (Ford) Brown. Laura 
loved spending time with her family especially spoiling her grandchildren and 
great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping, going to engine shows and 
doing crocheting.

Laura will be dearly missed by: husband, Clyde Olson; Children, Rick (Cathy) 
Olson, Debbie (Gary) Jousma and Laurie Averill; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-
grandchildren; sisters, Norma Anne and Gloria (Mike) Godlewski; along with 
many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents 
and two infant great-grandchildren, Alexis and Brandon.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 22, 2017, at Koops funeral Chapel, 
935 Fourth Ave. lake Odessa, Mi. 48849. Funeral services were held on 
Saturday, December 23, 2017. Memorial contributions in Laura's name can be 
given to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences can be left at
