Born April 18, 1954 in Hastings, MI son of Thomas Stephen & Norman Louise (Shoemaker) O'Mara. A proud graduate of Ionia High School in Class of 1972. Phil married his high School sweetheart, Diane M.Magee, on June 16, 1973. Together over 50 years, & raised three sons that he took great pride in. Phil owned & operated O'Mara Plumbing & Heating & the "Do it" Center in Ionia for many years, along with his wife Diane. He enjoyed the outdoors-hunting, fishing & golfing, & traveling with Diane. He was a devoted member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Phil lived a life defined by love, generosity & selflessness. He was a true role model, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. Survived by his wife, Diane; his sons, Phillip (Jessica)O'Mara of Manning, SC; Bradley O'Mara of Mt.Pleasant,SC; & Scott (Amber) O'Mara of Byron Center,MI; His cherished grandchildren: Taylor, Jayden, Finn, Payne, Macy, Raygen, Charlotte, Theodore & Henry. Plus his siblings, Onette McKenna, Colleen(Larry) Goodman, David (Gwen) O'Mara, Patrick (Deb) O'Mara, Robert (Patricia) O'Mara, Stephen (Cathy) O'Mara, & Thomas (Darcy) O'Mara, along with many nieces, nephews & extended family. Preceded in death by his parents & sister, Susan Csonka. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 2nd at 11:00 am at S.S.Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ionia, Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia, with scripture service beginning at 6:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Phil's memory to the ALS Association. Online condolences may be shared at www.lakefuneralhomes.com.
