O’Mara, 77, died at Ferguson- Droste hospital in Grand Rapids Sunday morning following a lengthy illness. He was born in Odessa township March 8, 1880 the son of John and Pauline Steinberg O’Mara. August 18, 1919 he was married to the former Emma Endres in Ionia. Mr. O’Mara was a veteran of World War I, member of Ionia Knight of Columbus, member of Work War I veterans organization and belonged to St. Edward church in Lake Odessa. Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Marie of Marshall, Mrs. Pauline Hubbard of Saranac and Mrs. Rosemary Hickey of Lake Odessa; three sons, Thomas and Lawrence of Lake Odessa and Eugene of Ionia; 27 grandchildren; two sisters, Anna and Mary O’Mara, one brother, Thomas of rural Lake Odessa. Knights of Columbus will have rosary at 8 p.m. Monday at Pickens funeral chapel. St. Edwards Altar society will repeat rosary Tuesday night at 7:30. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Edwards Roman Catholic church with Fr. Raymond Moggenberg officiating. Burial at Lakeside cemetery.
