Ionia County News - Thursday, 22 June 1939
The people of this community were shocked to hear of the sudden death of 
Eugene O'Neil, Wednesday, June 14 at his home.  Death came to Mr. O'Neil 
during the night while he slept.  Although his health had been poor for the 
past few years, he carried on his work up to the day of his death.  Mr. O'Neil 
was born January 25, 1869 on the farm where he died and where he spent his 
entire life.  He was loved and respected by all the community.  Funeral 
services were held in St. John the Baptist church.  Saturday morning.  The 
high mass of requiem was sung by Father Engene Fox, the pastor. Mr. O'Neil is 
survived by one brother and nine sisters.
