Portland Observer, 26 Jan 1875

Died on Tuesday morning, Jan 12th at her home in Lyons, Mary, wife of Albert 
O’Neil, aged 59 years.  

Thus after a brief illness of one week passed away a loving wife, a gentle and 
tender mother, a faithful friend and true Christian.

Deceased came to Lyons from Dundee, N. Y.  ??  twenty years ago with her 
husband and two children (Dennis O’Neil of Pewamo and Mrs. Wm. T??n of 
Portland; who still survive her.  A residence of more than twenty years, with 
her kind, generous and gentle disposition, and untiring efforts to secure the 
happiness and comfort of others, has endeared her memory to all of the large 
circle of friends and acquaintances who deeply mourn and sympathize with the 
afflicted family.  Her patience under extreme suffering and in the trying hour, 
her calm and cheerful resignation, displayed her unfailing confidence and trust 
in Him who doeth all things well.  The remains were followed to the grave by a 
large number of mourning friends.  The service was conducted by Rev. Clark 
Rector of St. Johns Parish (Episcopal) Ionia, which was very impressive and the 
sad memory of that occasion will linger with many in attendance while life 
shall last.
