Oneil, 96, of Jenison, formerly of Mulliken, has gone to be with the Lord on Friday evening, May 13, 2011 in Jenison. Mrs. Oneil was born October 23, 1914 in Sebewa Township, a daughter of John Snow Peabody and Susie Kenyon. She was a school teacher for many years until retirement. Ella was a member of the Daughters of Union Veterans, the Mulliken United Methodist Church and was active in many things including the library and church. She lived in Mulliken with her husband Max on the family farm until moving to Oakcrest Nursing Home in Jenison. Ella was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Max L. Oneil, on December 12, 1995. Surviving are two children, Patricia VanOtterloo of Hudsonville and Thomas Oneil of Florida; five grandchildren, Kinberly (Brian) Orcutt, Tim (Jill) Platte, John (Glenda) Oneil, Don (Ashley) Oneil and Patrick (Sherry) Oneil; great-grandchildren, Levi, Alex, Erica, Hunter, Colton and Michael; one sister, Mary Cambpell of Benzonia. Services were held 3 P.M. Wednesday, May 18, at Barker-Leik Funeral Home, Mulliken, with Pastor Judy Scholten officiating. Interment was in Meadowbrook Cemetery.
