Unexpectedly failing after recovery from an appendicitis operation was 
believed certain, Lavalette O’Neil, former resident of Pewamo, died Tuesday at 
the Memorial hospital, St. Johns.

Mr. O’Neil was the son of Dennis O’Neil, one of the early Lyons township 
pioneers.  He was a resident of Pewamo for many years, later going to Lyons 
and a little less than two years ago he moved to St. Johns.  He was for years 
a resident on the farm near Pewamo on the Lyons-Portland road.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, Perry, Billie and Richard and two 
daughters, Harriett and Alice.
