James O’Neill, 87, died Friday at his home in Hubbardston after being in ill 
health for five years.  He was born in North Plains township April 1, 1868.  He 
married Catherine Welch in Hubbardston in 1899.  Mr. O’Neill had lived in the 
Hubbardston area nearly all his life and was a retired farmer.

His only survivor is a son, Walter, of Hubbardston.  His wife and another r son 
preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist church 
with the Rev. Fr. Eugene R. Fox officiating.  Pallbearers will be Owen Burns, 
James O’Connell, Dennis T. O’Connell, James Fehyan, Charles Langdon and Clare 
Harden.  Burial will be in St. John the Baptist cemetery.

The body will be at the Burns and Gunther funeral home, Carson City, until 
Christmas Day when it will be taken to the home where rosary will be recited at 
3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
