Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Tues. Mar. 21, 1972


Miner Onstwedder, 71, of 5083 Hoyt road, route 2, Belding, died Monday morning 
at Ionia County Memorial hospital of an apparent heart attack.

Born at Studknall, Netherlands, April 18, 1900, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. 
Henry Onstwedder.

He was a candy salesman and owned and operated a candy store in Grand Rapids. 
He came to the Belding area in the late 1930’s and engaged in farming at his 
present residence.

His wife, the former Anna Heggenson, died in 1956.

Surviving are a son, Charles of Ionia; two grandchildren and four great 
grandchildren; four sisters, mrs. Henrietta Jacobusse, Mrs. Grace Noppert and 
Mrs. Christine Rayhart, of Grand Rapids,  and Mrs. Casey Knossen of Holland; 
brother, John of Alpena.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 pm at Huffman funeral home in Belding. 
Rev. Hubert Callahan will officiate and interment will be at Orleans cemetery.
