Osborn Death Former Pewamo Furniture Man Dies Tuesday; Funeral Tomorrow J.C. Osborn, 79, one time owner of the Morse street community store and former operator of a furniture store in Pewamo, died early Tuesday morning at his home on Yeomans street. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the residence. Burial will be in East Plains cemetery. Mr. Osborn had been ill for several months and went to the University hospital at Ann Arbor for treatment. He returned home in several week. Early this week his condition became critical. Born at Cornersburg, Ohio, July 26, 1858, Mr. Osborn came to Michigan when his parents moved to a farm northeast of Pewamo. He lived there until he married May Doris. She died four years ago. Mr. Osborn was a member of the Ionia lodge of No. 36 Free and Accepted Masons, having become affiliated with the Pewamo order in 1902. He leaves one son, Charles E., two brothers, M.C. Osborn, of LeRoy, Charles, of Lansing; and two grandsons, Royal and Vernon.
