Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2002

Frances Jane (Newell) Osborne, 72, of Hubbardston died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002 at 
the Laurels of Fulton Nursing Home in Perrinton.

She was born Sept. 29, 1929 in Royal Oak, to John and Pearl (Costello) Newell.  
She married Stanley Gene Osborne May 27, 1949 at the Methodist Church in 
Matherton.  She was a member of the Michigan Trail Riders Association and the 
Carson City Art Club.  She loved growing flowers and painting landscapes.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley Gene Osborne of  Hubbardston; son, 
Michael (Mary) Osborne of Belmont; daughter, Patricia (Tom) Dixon of Atlanta, 
Ga.; son, Gary (Theresa) Osborne of Muir; eight grandchildren; two great-
grandchildren; and sister, Clare (Joe) Gruda of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Hughes Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday at the Lux and Schnepp Funeral 
Home in Carson City with Rev. Kenneth Nash of Carson City United Methodist 
Church officiating.  Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday at the 
Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home in Carson City.  Interment will be in East Plains 
Cemetery, Matherton.  Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.
