At the age of 12 she became a member of the household of Mr. and Mrs. Darius Holden where she received the most tender and wise counsel that loving hearts could bestow. Well did she repay these kind foster parents for this beneficence by her untiring devotion as she developed into graceful beautiful womanhood. She became a Christian, united with the Church of Christ in North Plains, during the ministry of Brother C. M. C. Cook and has ever lived a consistent life in fellowship with her Savior. Her sweet, loving disposition, industry and faithfulness in the discharge of every duty; her many deeds of mercy, her unselfish and pure character, have won the respect and love of all who knew her. After years of suffering, patiently endured, her pure spirit took its flight to the better land peacefully, at the twilight hour, June 25. She leaves four brothers and one sister to mourn the loss of one so good and true, beside the loved ones in the home of her adoption who have so patiently ministered to her during her protracted illness and who will sadly miss her in the home. The entire community extend sympathy to the bereaved.
