Marie, age 93, passed away peacefully from this life to the next on June 10, 2015. Loring was born the son of Walt and Emma Osmar on December 4, 1921. He was a gentle man, a proud father and a friend to all. Loring is a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII and a member of St. Patrick Church in Portland. He retired from United Airlines in 1981 and enjoyed 34 years of retirement, 21 of those years on the shores of Lake Superior in the U.P. Loring married Geraldine Neville on May 25, 1980 and they were married 60 wonderful years. She preceded him death in 2010. He is also preceded in death by his grandson, Robert Allen and a great grandson, Justin White. Surviving are his children Leanne (Greg) Vadnais of East Lansing, Carol (Keith) Allen of Lynnville, TN, Steve (Mary) Osmar of DeWitt, Ken (Susan) Osmar of Fleming Island, FL, Janet (Larry) Goodell of Michigan Center, Joleen (Bill) Pennington of Portland, Laurie (Tony) Gardner of Portland and Scott (Kim) Osmar of Ramstein AFB, Germany; 28 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sister, Rita Tanner. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will be in Mission Hill Cemetery in Bay Mills, MI. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Friday, June 12, 2015 at Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. The rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lansing – Stoneleigh Residence or to St. Patrick Church in memory of Loring.
