The accident to Mrs. Anna Ostrander Wednesday evening, June 15, resulted in her 
death on Friday.  As stated in our last issue, Mrs. Ostrander had attended the 
free picture show, and was taken home by Irvin Kirby, who drew out on the right 
side of the road opposite the Ostrander home, on the west side of the river.  
Mrs. Ostrander stepped from the car into the middle of the road just as Edwin 
Albright in a Ford car was passing from the west, and knocked her down.  
Albright was traveling slowly as he stopped within a few feet, and the car had 
to be lifted to free Mrs. Ostrander.

Anna Powell was born December 13, 1858, in Danby township, this county, and 
passed away Friday, June 17, aged 60 years, 6 months and 4 days.  She was 
married to Salem Ostrander October 3, 1880, and Mr. Ostrander passed away 
January 31, 1907, at the farm home west of Lyons where they resided before 
coming to the village to live five years ago.  She is survived by seven 
children:  Mrs. Belle Stanton, Lakeview; George and Mrs. Alma Morgan, Ionia; 
Chester, Muir; Mrs. Viola Furmish, Durand; Salem and Ruth, who resided here 
with the mother.  Besides the children, she is survived by an aged mother, Mrs. 
Alma Marcy of Mt. Pleasant, two half sisters, two half brothers, 20 
grandchildren and one grandson.

Brief prayer service was held at the home Sunday afternoon and funeral services 
conducted in the Collins church before a large gathering of neighbors and 
friends.  Rev. Chas. Nease conducted the services, and the singing was by 
Mesdames Wolford and Vance, with Miss Barbara Mills at the organ.  Interment in 
the Keefer cemetery.
