Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Thurs. Nov. 12, 2009


Dixie Jane Ostrander, of Ionia, age 67, passed away on Nov. 11, 2009.

She was born on Nov. 4, 1942 in Muir the daughter of Mark and Laura (White) 
Randall and spent most of her life in Ionia County and Ionia since 1975. Her 
hobbies were collecting butterflies, spending time with her favorite cat and 
collecting mementos of kittens. She was an active member of Lincoln Avenue 
Baptist church, Ionia, the prayer group of the church the church choir and a 
Missionary program helper.

She was preceded in deah by her parents, brother, Harvey Randall and sister, 
Doris Rodgers.

Surviving are 1 daughter, Cindy (Jeff) Cherpes of  Muir; 3 sons, Kevin (Kathy) 
Ostrander of Lake Odessa, Ledo (Christy) Ostrander of Ionia and Todd Ostrander 
of Okemos; 14 grandchildren, Cassandra (J.R.), Jeffery and lance (Sandra) 
Cherpes, Tiphanie, Kellesha, Rechelle and David Ostrander, Tyler, Lar, and 
Brodie Ostrander, Tiffany and Haley Todd and Dustin and Christopher Hynes; 7 
great-grandchildren, Mariana, Aliyah, Christian, Emma, Drake, Taylor and 
Trenton; brother, Steven Randall of Ionia; 2 sisters, Barbara (Ronald) Claycomb 
of Ionia and Diane (Charles) Dalton of Edmore; 1 half brother, Jack (Fay) 
Randall of Sears and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009 at the 
Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, Ionia with interment following at Tuttle 
Cemetery in Ionia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on 
Friday from 6-8 p.m. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to 
the Diabetes Association I memory of Mrs. Dixie Jane Ostrander. Online
