Dec. 21, 1943 Funeral services for Mrs. George G. Ostrander, 64, who died Monday at the Ionia County Memorial hospital, will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the First Baptist church Rev. George Woolcock will officiate and burial will be in the family lot in Highland Park cemetery. The body will repose at the church one hour before services. Maude Jones was born March 13, 1879 in Ionia township and was the daughter of Lester F.S. Jones and Elizabeth H. Servecol. She was married to George G. Ostrander of Ionia and had spent her entire life here. The couple had made their home on a farm north of Ionia for many years until 1941 when they moved to the Minty farm. Mrs. Ostrander was a member of the First Baptist church. Surviving besides the husband George is a daughter, Mrs. Fred D. Smith; also LaVern A. DeForest, seaman second class in the U.S. Naval Seabees, stationed in the South Pacific, who had make his home with Mr. and Mrs. Ostrander for five years before entering services, also surviving is a brother, Guy Jones of Lansing and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Bour of Muskegon.
