The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, December 20, 1943


Mrs. George Ostrander, 64, died Monday at 12:05 p.m. at the Ionia County 
Memorial hospital where she was taken Saturday afternoon following a heart 
attack at her home at Rt. 2, Ionia.  She died after an illness of nearly four 
years.

She is survived by her husband, George, a patient at the University of Michigan 
hospital; one daughter, Mrs. Fred D. Smith of Flint; a sister, Mrs. Joseph 
Bour, of Muskegon; a brother, Guy Jones of Lansing.  Another daughter, Frances, 
was fatally injured December 16, 1940, in an automobile accident on East 
Lincoln avenue.

Mrs. Ostrander was born in Ionia county and attended Ionia schools.  She was a 
member of the First Baptist church.  

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
