He will be lovingly missed by his wife of nearly 60 years, Lorraine (Lapekes) Ostrander and his children; Diana (Tom) Huizinga; Judy, her sons, Jimmy and Sean Hogan; Sue, her son, Lukas (Fiancée, Allison Barker); and Richard (Lisa, and their children Rachelle, Michael, (Shannon) and their daughter Logan, Megan (Peter) McGowan, Breana and Paul. Also, surviving is his sister, Jean (Bill) Daller; brothers-in-law and sisters- in-law; Larry and Cindy Lapekes, Roman and Martha Lapekes, Howard and Dorothy Lapekes, Louis and Nina Lapekes, Lillian Lapekes and Marge Lapekes; numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Herman & Helena (Dehn) Ostrander, brother Paul and sister Joyce (Ostrander) Miller. Together with Lee Satterlee, his friend and business partner, he owned and operated Ostrander Siding and Roofing for over 40 years. Throughout his life he enjoyed additional business pursuits and served on the Boards of Directors of Extruded Aluminum Corporation, Ionia County National Bank and Belding Community Hospital. He was active in Belding Athletic Boosters, the Belding Education Foundation and St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Wayne shared his passion for travel and adventure with his family, taking them on many trips and vacations. He also enjoyed several hunting and fishing, golfing and gambling trips with his beloved friends. He had a gift of enthusiastic story telling which evoked great joy and laughter. He was generous, kind and compassionate. His strength and determination to live life to the fullest, in spite of cardiac challenges, was an inspiration to many. Wayne's Family would like to thank the doctors and staff at West Michigan Heart & Meijer Heart Center. Special appreciation is given to Dr. Michael Dickinson, Dr. Richard McNamara and their Coordinator, Theresa Wainscot. Wayne was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parnell. A Mass celebrating Wayne's life will be held at St. Patrick's Church on Monday, April 9 at 11 a.m. Father Mark Peacock will be officiating. Visitation will be at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Belding, on Sunday, April 8, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by a Rosary after visitation and also at St. Patrick's Church, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to Mass on Monday. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Fred & Lena Meijer Heart Center or Belding Athletic Boosters.
