The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, January 25, 1962

Mrs. Bernice M. Ostrom, formerly of this vicinity, died at Jacksonville, 
Florida on January 24.  She was 82 years old.  She had lived in the Ionia and 
Orleans area most of her life and was born in Easton township December 6, 
1879.  For the past six years she had lived in Chicago and had only been in 
Florida for one week.

Her parents were George and Eliza Forshee.  Her first marriage was to Samuel 
Parker, and her second marriage was to Fred Ostrom who passed away in 1936.  
She was a member of the St. John’s Episcopal church in Ionia.

Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Thelma N. Caine of Jacksonville, Fla., and two 
granddaughters, Mrs. Warren Woodruff also of Jacksonville, and Mrs. Walter 
Sablin of Denver, Colorado, also seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday from the Huffman Funeral Home with Rev. 
Raymond E. Bierlein of the St. John’s Episcopal church, Ionia and burial will 
be in Oakhill cemetery, Ionia with temporary interment at River Ridge cemetery 
in Belding.
