Last week he was taken ill with the mumps and streptococcus throat infection set in causing his death. He was born in 1879 in Berlin township the son of Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Otis. In earlier life he was associated with his father in the grocery business and in 1904 married Miss Nellie Foght, of Lake Odessa. Since then he has operated a barber shop in Saranac. He was an active member of the Masonic lodge. Surviving is his wife, one son, Marcus, of Detroit, and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Swain of Detroit, and Mrs. Nora Hartwell of Saranac. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home with burial at the family lot in the Saranac cemetery.
