Feb. 9, 2010 Keith Wayne Otto, age 67, of Vestaburg, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Gratiot Medical Center in Alma. He was born on Dec. 9, 1942 in Grand Rapids, Mich., the son of Claude B. and Beulah H. (Faylor) Otto. Keith was raised in the Ionia and Vestaburg area and attended Vestaburg High School through the 11th grade. On April 24 1961, Keith married the love of his life, Edith Lopez at the Lopez home on Lumberjack Road. He was employed with Hitachi for over 26 years and has been employed as a truck driver with Foreway Transportation for seven years. Keith was a member of the UAW Union and M-46 Tabernacle in Riverdale. He also served as a PeeWee League Coach for Vestaburg for a number of years. Keith enjoyed wood working and yard work, both at his home and at the church. He also assisted with the church food pantry projects. He enjoyed spending time with his Chihuahuas and his children and grandchildren. Keith is survived by his loving wife, Edith, and their children, Kenneth (Penny Gantz) Otto of Vestaburg, Kevin (Joan) Otto of Chattanooga, Tenn., Kimber (Tonya Williams) Otto of South Carolina, Kamie Otto-Hansen of Beal City, Keith Otto Jr. of Vestaburg and Karry Otto of Vestaburg; 17 grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; four siblings Zelpha, Lois, Deloris and Francis; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and four sisters. A funeral service for Keith will be held on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. at M-46 Tabernacle in Riverdale with Pastor Daniel Skirvin officiating. The family will receive friends at a visitation scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (4 hours prior to the service). Memorial contributions in Keith’s honor can be made to the family.
