Funeral services for Perry Harold Outman, 70, of 722 West Ellis Avenue were held
Monday afternoon at Belding United Methodist Church.  Mr. Outman died suddenly
March 22 at Belding Community Hospital.  Rev. Wilford D. Wood and Belding
Masonic Lodge No.355 F&AM officiated at the services.  Interment was at Otisco
Cemetery.  Members of the Masonic Lodge were pallbearers.  The Charles M.
Courser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Outman was born April 3, 1902 in Marcellus, Michigan.  He was married to
Cecile E. Dunn September 23, 1928 in Belding.

He was semi-retired and was the former owner of Outman Shoe Store.  He had
graduated from Belding high school in 1920 and attended the University of
Michigan.  He established the Outman Shoe Store in 1926.  In 1964, he sold it to
his son Richard, who now continues the business.  He was a member of the Belding
First Congregational Church.  He was a member of the Belding Masonic Lodge No.
355 F. & A.M.  He was a past master of the lodge as well as having served as
secretary for 32 years.  He was a former Ionia county supervisor, former Rotary
club member, former member of the Belding Chamber of Commerce.  He was presently
a member of the board of review, Belrockton board, Ionia county mental health
board and the Belding hospital board.  He had played semi-pro baseball with the
former Greenville Independents baseball team.

He is survived by his wife Cecile; one daughter Mrs. Keith (Barbara) VanDuzen of
Beulah, Michigan; three sons, Louis, Richard and Robert, all of Belding; six
grandchildren.
