Overbeck, 37, of Saranac, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024. Ryan was born in Grand Rapids on December 2, 1986. Ryan was the son of Edward Overbeck and Deborah (Pritchard)Smith. he graduated from Saranac High School in 2005 and, following high school, enlisted in the Air Force, where he proudly served as a Senior Airman and Honor Guard Member stationed out of Little Rock,Arkansas.Ryan served in the Iraq and Afghanistan was. Ryan proudly started his own company. Six One Six Concrete, in Saranac. Ryan was an avid out doors man, enjoying time outside hunting, fishing, and disc golfing, but is greatest passion was spending time with his many friends and family. This was especially true when he was with his sons Case and Carter, his nephews, nieces and cousins, and his beloved Melissa.As a family , they made countless memories together in the outdoors, attending concerts, playing sports, and growing the family business. Ryan was passionate about sports, having played several growing up, and generously volunteered his time coaching local youth sports, including football, basketball, wrestling and baseball, where his legacy will live on in all those who e lucky to call him "Coach Ryan". Ryan was truly genuine in all that he did and was indeed the life of the party. He never failed to make those around him smile or laugh and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Ryan is survived by his Fiancee' Melissa Maciejewski of Saranac. Sons: Case Overbeck and Carter Byrd. Father Edward (Jayne) Overbeck of Saranac. Mother Deborah (Parrish) Smith of Saranac. Sister Jennifer Overbeck of Grand Rapids.Brother Jared (Ashley) Overbeck of Ionia. Step-siblings; Dawn(Scott) Truskowski of Wyoming, Audra (Jeff) Bolthouse of Middleville, Marissa (Brady)Handlon of Lowell, Parrish (Becky) Smith II of Ohio, Anna (Mitch) Reetz of Mt.Pleasant and Jenna (Nate) Deroo of Kansas. Grandparents; Lillian Overbeck, Carolyn Buckner, Clyde (Connie) Prichard, and Joline McCarty, many Aunts,Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Grandfathers, William Overbeck Sr., Luther Buckner, Paul McCarty, his nephew William Michael Overbeck, and his cousin Gregory Westbrook. Visitation was Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Funeral service will be at the Funeral Home in Ionia on Saturday,February 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow at St.Anthony's Church in Saranac.
