Sunday, September 30, 2007. He was born January 26, 1929. Jim was in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during the Korean War. His memberships included the Palatka Veterans of Foreign Wars— Post 3349, Lake Aerie Eagles—Crescent City No. 4355 and the Saranac American Legion Post 175. He was a bricklayer by trade. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ruth Overbeck, and his brothers and sister, Robert, Richard, Thomas and Shirley. He is survived by his longtime companion, Lois Fredriksen of Lake Como, Fla.; sons, James (Laurie) Overbeck, Arnie (Kelly) Overbeck, Mickey (Sheri) Overbeck and Daniel (Louella) Overbeck; daughter, Sherry (Brad) McPhall; brother, William (Lillian) Overbeck; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A celebration of James’ life will be at the Saranac Community Church Monday October 16, 2007 at 11 a.m. followed by a luncheon at the American Legion in Saranac.
