Ionia Sentinel Standard, 16 May 1966

Willis V. (Mike) Overley, 68, formerly of Lake Odessa, died at noon Sunday in
Hastings after a long illness.  Born September 2, 1897, the son of Charles and
Agusta Cramer Overly of Marian, Ind., he moved to Lake Odessa when still a baby.  He
was married to Leona Sharpe of Gobles March 24, 1924.  Mr. Overley, a member of Odd
Fellows lodge, and Lakeside grange, had been justice of the peace and village
treasurer.

Surviving are his wife, Leona, three daughters, Mrs. Walter Kidder, Hastings, Mrs.
Robert Baney of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Kenneth Chapman of Hickory Corners, a son, Clair
of East Lansing, and sixteen grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Pickens funeral chapel, with Rev.
Luther Brokaw officiating.  Burial will be at Lakeside cemetery.
