LEONA M. OVERLEY

LAKE ODESSA-Leona M. Overley, 82, of 1059 Emerson, Lake Odessa, died Friday in 
Pennock Hospital in Hastings.

Born Sept. 1, 1903, in Mobile County, Texas, she was the daughter of William and 
Ann MacIntosh Sharp. She graduated from Gobles High School and Clear Lake 
Academy and was married to Willis Overley March 24, 1924, in Ionia. He preceded 
her in death in 1965.

A nurse, she practiced home care nursing in the Lake Odessa areas for several 
years and also was employed by the Lake Odessa Canning Co.

She was a member of Rebekah Lodge.

She is survived by a son, Clair of East Lansing, two daughters, Mrs.Walter 
(Charlene) Kidder of Hastings and Mrs.Kenneth (Marian) Chapman of Hickory 
Corners, 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, Lenora 
Daniels of Albuquerque, N.M. and Ethel White of Houston.

One daughter, Donita Baney preceded her in death in 1978.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake 
Odessa, with the Rev. George Speas officiating.

Burial will be n Lakeside Cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home Monday from 7 to8:30 p.m.
