Ionia Sentinel Standard
Walter J. Overton, 60, died Friday in Grand Rapids.  Born on Long Island, New 
York, January 17, 1916, he was the son of George and Lilliam Barber Arthur and a 
member of the Lowell Moose lodge.  He is survived by his mother, Lillian Overton 
of Long Island, New York; two sons, Warren of Long Island and Arthur of Grand 
Rapids;  two daughters, Mrs. Gene Vanderlay and Sue Ann Overton both of Long 
Island; two brothers, Calvin Overton of New York and George Overton of Virginia; 
three sisters, Helen Satterley and Marjorie Kaehne of Long Island, and Charlotte 
Grey of Stone Falls, New York; and ten grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 3:30 pm at the Roetman funeral home in Saranac, Rev. 
Vanderlay officiating.  Burial at Saranac cemetery.  Contributions may be made 
to the Moose lodge heart fund.  The family will be at the home from 7 to 9 pm 
Saturday and 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm Sunday.
