Todd was born in Watervliet Sept. 16, 1968. He graduated from Portland High School in 1986 and Michigan State University in 1991. Todd taught and coached at Springport Public Schools for the past 17 years. He also coached football and wrestling at Portland, East Lansing, and Leslie prior to being at Springport—and Todd co-founded the Sunfish Wrestling Club. Continuing his legacy are his wife of 13 years, Tanya (Matchett); four young children, Luke, Jana, Hope, and Stone, parents, Monte and Dianne Overweg; brother, Matt (Lisa) Overweg; sister, Katie (James) Van Dam; maternal grandparent Margaret Munro; paternal grandparents George Overweg and Mary Miedema; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating Todd’s life was held at the Springport High School Gymnasium March 17 with Pastor Dave from the Salem United Church of Christ of Albion officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Todd may be made to the Springport Homestead Savings Bank for the Overweg Children’s College Fund. Arrangements are being handled by the J.C.
