Aged Man Found Dead in Room at Belding Sunday

Natural causes were ascribed as the cause of the sudden death of Owen Riley, 66, who
was found dead Sunday morning in his room in a Belding rooming house operated by
Mrs. Kitty Tift.  The aged man’s body was found in the morning when he failed to
make his appearance as usual and the landlady went to investigate.

Sheriff William Franch was called and he notified Coroner B.J. Boynton who decided
stomach disorders from which he had suffered for several years were responsible for
Mr. Riley’s death sometime during the night.

Mr. Riley is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Renah Tractor, Grand Rapids.  His
estranged wife, Rose, also survives.

[Transcriber's Note:  The death certificate and the cemetery listing both give his
name as Riley D. Owen.  There is a notation on the obituary card that he was buried
in River Ridge Cemetery.]
