Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 26 Jun 1972

Mrs. Shirley A. Owen, 80, of Carson City died Saturday at her home.  She was a
former resident of Ionia.  Born September 20, 1891, at Bellaire she was the
daughter of Clark and Harriett Densmore.  She graduated from Bellaire high
school in 1909 and received her RN degree from nurses training school at the old
Lansing City hospital.

She was married to Ray Owen in 1912.  She was a lifetime member of United
Methodist churches and during her 34 years as resident of Ionia she was active
in the Ionia church.

Besides the husband, Ray, she leaves three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Beaver of
Tryon, N.C., Mrs. Marjorie Proctor of Carson City and Mrs. Barbara Eckert of
Dunedin, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs.
Nellie Driese of Ann Arbor and Mrs. Josephine Stiem of Detroit; brother, James
Densmore of Dearborn.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Carson City United Methodist
church.  Rev. Raymond Flessner will officiate and interment will be at Carson
City cemetery.  Mrs. Owen is at Burns-Schnepp funeral home at Carson City.
