INJURIES ARE FATAL TO DRIVER

Gordon Lee Oyler, 22, who was critically injured early May 26 succumbed Monday 
night at 7:30 at Ionia County Memorial Hospital.

He was the driver of a vehicle which crashed into a tree at 12:20 Saturday 
morning, May 26.  A passenger in the car, Donald E. Loveless, 18, was killed 
instantly.

The death of Oyler; nine days after he was injured brings the total for Ionia 
County highways so far in 1962 to five.  A year ago at this time there were 
six.

Oyler was thrown out of the automobile at the time of the crash and suffered 
internal abdominal injuries.  He has since been confined to the hospital in a 
credical condition.

He was born February 3, 1940 in Ionia, the son of Mr and Mrs Orville Oyler of 
route one, attended Ionia and Sheridan schools and served two years in United 
States Navy.

He was employed at B and L Buffing company of Ionia.

Survivors include his wife, three children; his parents; one brother; two 
sisters; his grandfather and his grandmother.

Funeral service will be Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Myers funeral home 
with burial at Woodard Lake cemetery.
