The Ionia County News, Thursday, February 11, 1937

The death of Mrs. William Padgett occurred very suddenly at her home north of 
Orleans in Easton, Saturday, February 6.  In 1930 she suffered a stroke from 
which she never fully recovered, although she was up and around most of the 
time.

Jennie Adelia Mills, daughter of William and Emma Mills, was born in North 
Plains, August 18, 1870.  Her grandfather, Major Mills, was one of the 
pioneers of North Plains.  Last year she looked forward to attending the 
centennial held then but ill health would not permit her to do so.

She was married February 19, 1891 to William Padgett who together with one 
son, Leo B., a granddaughter, a sister, Mrs. William Dawson, of Ann Arbor, 
three nieces, one nephew, three great-nieces and four great-nephews survive.

Prayer service held at the home Tuesday, February 9, at 1:00 p.m. with funeral 
at North Plains church at 2:00 o’clock.  Rev. Paul Stewart officiated and 
interment was in North Plains cemetery.
