Ionia Standard – Friday 4 March 1892
Stephen F. Page died Wednesday at the residence of his son-in-law, B. J. 
Borden, in North Plains, of heart disease at the age of 74.  Mr. Page came to 
Ionia about 1840, and for two score years was one of the prominent and 
influential citizens of this place.  He was active in politics, and held the 
office of register of the U. S. land office for several consecutive terms.  He 
moved to Virginia in February, 1877, but returned to this county after four 
years residence in that state.  Since his return he has lived a quiet life on 
the farm seldom coming to town.  He leaves a wife and two daughters:  Rose, 
wife of Byron J. Borden, of North Plains, and Fanny, wife of John J. Belknap 
of Grand Rapids. The funeral will take place from Disciples’church at 1 pm 
today.
