Sheridan - Dorothy M. Pakes, of 1726 E. Pakes Road, Stanton, died upon arrival
at Sheridan Community Hospital.  She was born Jan. 13, 1917, in Orleans, the
daughter of Chancy C. and Josephine M. Shears Smith.

She married Roland Pakes on July 3, 1937, in Belding.  Mrs. Pakes has been a
longtime resident of the Stanton area.  She attended First Congregational Church
of Stanton.  She retired from Towers in Greenville and later worked at
McDonald’s in Stanton as a greeter.

She is survived by one daughter, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren,
two great-great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Jim
Sloan of Florida; special friends, Bill and Pat Denemy and family of Stanton. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland W. Pakes on Nov. 22, 1978.

Funeral services Jan. 7 at Stebbins & Simpson Funeral Home, Sheridan, with the
Revs. Ken and Lillian Downing officiating.  Interment is in Evergreen Cemetery,
Sheridan.  The family suggests memorial considerations to the White Pine Library.
