She was born on Nov. 24, 1924, in Belding, the daughter of Elmer and Olive Pearl Bradshaw Rich. Mrs. Palethorpe worked for Gibson’s for 19 years before retiring in 1987. On June 22, 1946, she married Albert Palethorpe in Belding. She is survived by her husband, Albert, her children, Joel Palethorpe and his wife, Linda, of Mecosta, Shannon Palethorpe and his wife, Bonnie, of Sheridan, Rod Palethorpe of Belding, Gloria Rushford of Belding, Dana Palethorpe and his wife, Lisa, of Orleans, Scott Palethorpe of Orleans; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Eva and her husband, Don Edwards, of Belding, Leah and her husband, Francis Palethorpe, Mrs. Althea Ward, all of Greenville; and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Palethorpe was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Olive Pearl Rich; two sisters, Iva and Anna; and one brother, Leslie. Services for Mrs. Palethorpe will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, Belding, with the Rev. Timothy Simmons officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens. For those who wish, memorials in memory of Mrs. Palethorpe may be made left at the funeral home for Hospice of Ionia County. Relatives and friends may meet Mrs. Palethorpe’s family from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
