Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2003

Harold K. Palmer, 90, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, in St. Louis.  He was a 
resident of the Pine River Health Care Center.  He was born Feb. 17, 1912, on 
the family farm in Orleans, to John K. and Susan (Richardson) Palmer.

In 1930 he graduated from Belding High School and married Nellie Iris Wise in 
1938.  After 58 years of marriage she predeceased him in 1996.  They were the 
owners of Fairway Floor Covering in Ionia for many years and upon retirement 
lived 7 years in Guadalajara, Mexico, and then moved to Pensacola, Fla.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Louis.  He is survived by 
his daughter Erva Asiala of Saginaw; sons John of Raleigh, N.C., Raymond, of 
Grand Rapids and Richard, of Ionia; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-
grandchildren; and one sister Ethel Bidstrup of Seattle, Wash.
