Gerald "Jerry" G. Palmer, 92, of Ionia, passed away June 30, 2012. He was born 
Sept. 2, 1919 in Grand Rapids, the son of Gabriel and Bernice (Blanding) 
Palmer. He graduated from Creston High School. Gerald married Bernice H. Kappe 
Feb. 14, 1951. She preceded him in death June 2, 2005.

He is survived by his children Dan (Dawn) Palmer of Crystal, and Peggy Palmer 
(Robert Newton) of Washington State; granddaughter Courtney (Jeff) Johanson of 
Lansing and great grandchildren Jackson and Alexis; and sister, Ruth Kishefsky 
of Rokford.

Gerald was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan; three brothers; and two 
sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Shiloh Community Church with 
Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Funeral arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in 
Ionia. Interment Lakeview Cemetery. The family will receive friends and 
relatives 9:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Online condolences may
