The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, February 21, 1946
Charles Palmer, 57, for 32 years a Saranac hardware merchant, died in the 
Saranac post office Wednesday following a heart attack he suffered when he 
helped push an automobile out of the snow.  

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Morris funeral home 
in Saranac.  

Surviving him are his wife, Eva; two sisters, Mrs. James Scott of Saranac and 
Mrs. George MacRae of VanDyke, and a brother, Berney of Hershey.  Mr. Palmer 
sold his business, the Saranac Hardware company, last July.  He was born in 
Ionia County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Addison Palmer, and was a member of the 
Saranac Odd Fellow Lodge.
