Ionia SEntinel - Thursday, July 7, 1898

Simon Pangborn died at his home on Jones street on June 25. Had he lived until 
October he would have passed the ninetieth milestone. In his younger days he 
was a prominent merchant of this city. For more than twenty-five years he and 
his aged wife, who still survives him, have lived very quietly in the little 
home where he died. Mrs. Pangborn is 88 years old and very feeble. Mr. and Mrs. 
Pangborn have lived in this city for more than forty years and were always held 
in the highest esteem by the citizens of Ionia and vicinity. The news of his 
death will be received with a feeling of sadness, especially by the elder 
members of the community.
