The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Saturday, November 8, 2014


Sandra L. (Hummel) Panks, age 68, of Ionia, passed away October 27, 2014.  She 
was born January 14, 1946 in Ionia the daughter of Merlin and Helen 
(Weisenburg) Hummel. 

Sandra married Larry Panks on August 29, 1982 in Ionia.  She was a member of 
the Ionia Moose Lodge.  She loved to bowl, travel and go shopping. 

Sandra is survived by her husband of 32 years, Larry Panks of Ionia; children, 
Angie (Mitch) Harrington of Ionia, Mike (Wendy) Meyers of Muir, Shanda (Mark) 
Berdan of Rose City; brothers, Pat (Jane) Hummel and John (Carol) Hummel of 
Ionia; sisters, Barb (Jim) Bell of Ionia, Mary (Tim) Lanz of Muir, Brenda 
Proctor of Ionia, and Dawn (Ronnie) Thompson of Missouri; sister-in-law, Dottie 
Sines; grandchildren, Katrina Campanaro, John Yeomans, Josh Harrington, Justin 
Harrington, Heather Harrington, Cody Meyers, Dan Gleason, David Gleason, Alex 
Meyers, Alexis Berdan, Bryce Berdan, Gavin Berdan and 14 great-grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Michael Sines. 

A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, November 8, 3 p.m. at the Ionia 
Moose Lodge.  Memorial donations may be made to her family.  Arrangements by 
Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.
