Ionia Sentinel Standard - Feb. 22, 2011


Ione Ida Pant of Cadillac died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 at her home. She was 79. 
She was born on May 31, 1931 in Ionia County to Sheldon and Freida (Sparks) 
Myers. She married Harold Clare Pant 1949 and he preceded her in death 1990.

Ione was employed as a Bus Driver for Special Transportation in Lansing for 
over 20 years. She also worked in Ionia as a cook in a restaurant and also at 
Senior Companions Helping Hands, and for the last 12 years both here and in 
Manistee she was employed at Foster Grandparents through the Schools. She was 
at Franklin Elementary for six years while in Cadillac.

She is survived by her sons, Robert (Karon) Pant of Eaton Rapids, Steve (Helen) 
Pant of Lansing and Tim (Debbie) Pant of Cadillac; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-
grandchildren; and sisters, Lorna Myers of Montpelier, Ohio, Sherri (Frank) 
Rasmus of Saranac and Brenda (Danny) Bush of Lansing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Ron Pant, a daughter, Tammy 
Preston, a brother, Robert Myers and a sister, Lois Heaven. 

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Her final resting 
place will be Cemetery in Saranac.
