The Rev. Donald “Rocky” Parcher, 70, formerly of Fenwick, went to be with his
Lord on Feb. 6, 2000, at his home in Brooksville, Fla.  He was born Aug. 31,
1929, in Ionia County, to Clifford and Ruby Parcher.

Donald graduated from Belding High School.  He then went on to serve in the U.S.
Army during the Korean War.  During his working years, he was employed by
Parmely and Carpenter – a construction company that built bridges.  He also
worked at Gibson’s and retired from Fisher Body in 1988.  His hobbies included
driving stock cars at the Crystal Raceway in his younger years and earning his
pilot’s license so he could fly.  In his later years, he settled for fishing,
golfing, trains and flea marketing.

He was a member of the House of Prayer and was an elder at the Church of the
Holy Spirit, Brooksville.

He was preceded in death by his father and one granddaughter.  Donald is
survived by his wife, Leona, whom he married Feb. 6, 1954.  He also is survived
by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Art and Anne of Fenwick, Rick of Sheridan;
one daughter and son-in-law, Roxie and Micky Harris of Texas; eight
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; his mother, Ruby of Palo; two sisters
and one brother-in-law, Wanetta Hume of Palo, Virginia and Bob Christman of
Ionia; one brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Mabel of Fenwick.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. May 26 at Sheridan Assembly of God
with the Revs. J. Wilcox and Carlson officiating.  Interment has taken place at
the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
