Leonard A. Park, 74, of Orleans passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2002, at his 
home.  He was born July 26, 1928 in Greenville, the son of Clarence and Ina 
Thomson Park.

He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served as a medic and motor pool 
sergeant.  Leonard was an instructor in the master mechanic program at Northern 
Michigan University in Houghton.  He was a loving husband, father and 
grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  Leonard had 
a strong faith in Jesus Christ and his life was testimony to that faith.

He was married on January 29, 1955 in Orleans to Marian Minier and she survives 
along with their children, Debra Kay (Bruce) Mellema of Greenville, Gail Renae 
(David) Neve of Belding, Rhonda Carlene (Gordon Ray) Lake of Orleans, Carmen 
Maurice (John Cahill) of Goshen, Ind., and 15 grandchildren, 13 great-
grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, his brother and sister in law, 
Norval (Violet) Park of Roscommon, and his sister and brother-in-law Vera 
(Roger) Almas of Greenville and sister-in-law Leona Avery of Thousand Oaks, 
Calif., and his mother-in-law Ruth Minier of Ionia.  He was preceded in death 
by his parents, two brothers, Elvin and Alvin, two sisters, Joan Belle Jarecki 
and Marci Gallagher, and a grandson, Daniel.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the Belding Bible Church with his 
Pastor Ken Martin officiating.  Interment will be in Orleans Cemetery.  
Visitation is 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Johnson Feuerstein 
Funeral Home, Belding.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Belding Bible 
Church.
