The facts, as near as your correspondent has been able to gather them, are that some time since his wife left home, complaining that she was ill treated by Mr. Parker. She went to Hastings, and a few days since her husband visited her and tried to prevail upon her to return, which she refused to do. Whereupon Parker evinced unmistakable signs of insanity, and on the morning in question attempted to kill himself with a knife, but was prevented by his boy. About eight o’clock he proceeded to an outhouse, and with a halter strap fastened to a rafter hung himself, and when found five minutes later was dead, his knees almost touching the floor.
