The Ionia Standard, Thursday, October 5, 1876
George W. Parkhill died in this city, on last Sunday, after a short illness.  
He has been for several years prescription clerk in the drug store of Taylor & 
Cutler.  He was one of the most promising young men in our city, and during 
his residence here, by his pleasant, affable manner and his strict attention 
to business gained not only the confidence and respect of his employers, but 
of all who came in contact with him in social or business circles.  His loss 
will be deeply felt by our people and his family have the sincere sympathy of 
the citizens in their sudden and sad bereavement.  The funeral services which 
took place yesterday, were largely attended.
