Mrs. Parks had been ailing for the past six months, and her death was attributed to cancer of the liver. The Parks’ moved here from Fenwick about two years ago and have made their home at 703 S. Pleasant street. Bernice Osworth was born in St. Louis, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Osworth. When she was two years of age the family moved to this city where she attended the public schools and graduated from the eighth grade. At the time of her death Mrs. Parks was 34 years of age, and would have been 35 the 18th of this month. She was a former member of the Free Methodist church. Surviving are the husband, Ronald Parks, and a small daughter, Dolores, aged 6 years, and four sisters, Mrs. Edna Kline, Mrs. Marie McClow and Miss Libbie Osworth of this city and Mrs. Blanche Slock of Denver, Colorado. The services were held from the parents home in Fenwick with Rev. John H. Cornelius, a retired minister of Lakeview, officiating, and burial was in the cemetery at Shanty Plains.
