Rites Friday for Irving G. Parks

Death came unexpectedly Tuesday evening to Irving G. Parks, age 76, at his home
on Front St. following an illness of but a few days.

Mr. Parks was born at Sheridan on March 2, 1876, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth
Parks.  He was married to Sarah Emery on July 1, 1900, and for many years the
family resided in Fenwick.  In the early years he followed the trade of a
harness maker.  For the past eleven years Mr. and Mrs. Parks have been residents
of this city.

Survivors include the widow, one daughter, Mrs. Earl Schrader of Greenville, one
son, Ronald Parks of this city, two brothers, Thomas of Harbor Springs and
Richard of Gobelsville, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  Another
son, Guy, passed away one year ago.

Funeral services will be held from the Fitzjohn Funeral Home on Friday afternoon
at 2 o’clock with Rev. H. S. Ellis as officiating clergyman.  Burial will be at
Shanty Plains cemetery near Shiloh where the graveside rites will be in charge
of Pearl Lake Lodge 324 F&AM of Sheridan of which the deceased was a member.
