Coroner Dale Kauffman said death was due to suffocation. Mr. Parks was born in Toledo, Ohio May 31, 1924, the son of Linus and Goldie Koshier Parks. He attended school at Shaftsburg in Shiawassee county and had lived in Ionia the past 12 years, coming here from Lansing. September 9, 1950 he was married at Ionia to Reva Johnson. Mr. parks was employed as a lineman at Mitchell-Bentley corporation nine years. He was affiliated with Evangelical United Brethren church and was a member of Ionia Moose lodge 998. He was in United States Marine Corps during World War II, serving five years with Marines and later two years in United States Army. Surviving are his wife, Reva; one son, Bernard, Jr., at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Linus Parks of Lansing; four brothers, Richard Parks of Perry, Linus, Jr., of Lansing, Edwin of Bath, and Dale of Shaftsburg; four sisters, Mrs. June Morse, Mrs. Verlin Cook and Mrs. Barbara Gould of Lansing, and Mrs. Betsy Dean of Perry. Funeral service will be conducted at Myers funeral home Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. A. R. Kuehn officiating. Burial will be at Balcom cemetery.
